The siege of vicksburg
The Siege of Vicksburg, which occurred between May 18 to July 4, 1863, was the last major military action in Vicksburg Campaign of the American Civil War. It was union commander Grant vs Robert E. LEE of the confederate forces. The union won the battle and gained control of the Mississippi River which was a turning point of the war. There were 3000 Union casualties and 500 Confederate.
