Fort Sumter
Fort Sumter is where the first shots of the Civil War were fired on April 12, 1861. The battle took place in Charlestown County between union Major Robert Anderson and the confederacies' Brig. Gen. P.G.T. Beauregard. The south attacked Fort Sumter to signify the start of a secession. The confederacy easily won this battle without any casualties on both sides.
