Pauline Cushman
Pauline Cushman, born on June 10, 1833, was born under the name Harriet Wood. Her original profession was being an American actress, but she also played the role of a spy for the Union during the Civil War. Harriet was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She ended up getting paid by two pro-Confederate men to toast Jefferson Davis after a performance. She, however, had better idea's. She had decided to join the rebels, and offered her services to the Union to be a spy. By the end of the war in 1865, she gave speeches and lectures about her exploits as a spy.
